Getting Started With Port Mapper

Port Mapper runs in your task bar and prompts when ever a new port is opened by some application.When a port is opened by an application so as to communicate with the interenet, Port Mapper will popup a window at the bottom right corner and ask whether you would like to to forward the port. If you say yes , Port Mapper will automatically forward the port, and configure your Router to allow internet users to to communicate with the application.

Welcome Screen

This screen appears when you start Port Mapper first time, and  provides you with various option to configure Port Mapper - whether you need Desktop shortcuts, porgram folder entries etc. You should enter your Router Username and Password for Port Mapper to check your Router settings, and forward ports. You can also set how you want to get prompted when you are playing the game, the UI theme you prefer etc.

After you have selected the options as per your requirements you will get the messages in the form of unobstrusive balloons and notification dialogs whether your router is detected or not and other updates. If your Router is detected and initialization is successful, you are now ready to start your game!

Applications Screen

Port Mapper Applications UI holds the names of applications and the corresponding port number of the applications which have opened a port in your system, that may need to be forwarded to your Router, and made accessible to internet users                      It also shows the action you have set for those applications and you can change the actions to be performed next time the application opens a port.

Settings Screen

The Settings screen lets you set the product settings according to your preference. - the way you want to be prompted, whether you want to keep a sound based popup or not. Router user name and password can be changed here in case you have provided wrong credentials before.

Router Details

This screen gives you the details of your router such as

Router Vendor
Router Model
Router Firmware version
Router Ip
And Router MAC Address.
